Scope

What's included

Surface type decides the method, so tell us if it's block paving, slabs, concrete, natural stone or decking when you ask, and whether you've got an outside tap.

  • Sweep and clear the area first (pots, furniture, loose debris off)
  • Pressure wash to suit the surface (lower pressure on stone and decking)
  • Lift moss, algae and weeds from the joints and surface
  • Treat oil stains and black spot as far as they'll come back
  • Block paving re-sanded with kiln-dried sand brushed into the joints

Best fit

Who this is for

  • Homeowners and tenants who want a cleaner living space
  • Hosts preparing properties for incoming guests
  • Busy households that prefer scheduled support

Extras

Optional add-ons

Request these in your quote. All priced within the same booking.

  • Kiln-dried sand re-sanding for block paving (usually needed after washing)
  • Weed treatment to slow regrowth in the joints
  • Moss and algae biocide treatment for a longer-lasting finish
  • Sealing on suitable surfaces once they're fully dry (separate visit)
  • Decking wash and gentle clean (softer approach than slabs)

Common problems

Typical issues we tackle

  • Green algae and moss film that makes paving slippery in winter
  • Weeds and grass growing up through the joints between blocks or slabs
  • Black spot lichen, the stubborn dark dots that stain slabs and concrete
  • Oil and tyre marks on driveways where the car sits

Pricing factors

What affects the quote

No fixed prices. Scope, condition, and access all feed into the final figure.

  • 01Total area in square metres and the surface type
  • 02How much moss, weed and black spot has built up
  • 03Whether block paving needs re-sanding afterwards
  • 04Water access and somewhere for the runoff to drain

3 steps

How it works

  1. 01Send us the rough size and a photo or two, plus the surface type, and we'll quote per square metre with a minimum area.
  2. 02We book a dry-ish day, turn up with the gear, and confirm access to a tap and drainage before we start.
  3. 03We wash the area, re-sand block paving joints where needed, and have a look over it with you before we pack up.

Quote checklist

What to include in your quote request

Faster quotes happen when we have full scope upfront. Copy this list into your message.

  • Postcode and a rough measurement, or the length and width so we can work out the area
  • What the surface is: block paving, slabs, concrete, natural stone or decking
  • A couple of photos showing the state of it (moss, weeds, stains)
  • Is there an outside tap we can use, and where can the water drain off
  • Parking near the property and any gate or side-access width

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How does the per square metre price work?

It's from £2 a square metre with a minimum area, so a small patio costs more per metre than a big driveway because there's a setup either way. Send the size and we'll give you one figure for the whole job, not a price that climbs on the day.

Will it get rid of every oil stain and all the black spot?

Honest answer: not always. Surface oil and most green stuff lifts well, but oil that's soaked deep into open concrete, and old black spot lichen, can leave a shadow. We'll tell you what we think will come back before we start rather than overpromise.

Do I need to be re-sanding block paving after a wash?

Usually yes. Washing flushes the old sand out of the joints, and if you leave them empty the blocks shift and weeds come back faster. We brush kiln-dried sand back in as part of the job on block paving.

What do you need from me on the day?

Access to an outside tap and somewhere the runoff can drain. Move any pots, furniture or the car off the area beforehand if you can.

Can you jet wash decking?

Yes, but we go gentler on it. Timber and composite mark up under full pressure, so we drop it right down and work along the grain to clean it without furring up the boards or stripping the surface.
